Zippy PDF Print E-mail

C:\Users\scott\Pictures\Junior1 07\Junior 2 #1 079.JPG After cutting many trees, planting four telephone posts, and numerous delays, “Zippy” was installed on Tuesday, May 29 th by a small crew of men from Experiential Resources, Inc. out of Bloomington, Indiana. They arrived at noon and were headed out by 6:30 that evening.

Two days later Keith Augustus, Scott Randolph, and eight other Camp Assurance summer staff or ministry friends received 12 hours of training including knot-tieing, harnessing, safety procedures, and overall care for using the zipline. Each rode and served in 2-3 of the three different areas of responsibility.

The project cost $10,000. Nearly that amount was raised between a fund-raising banquet at East Park Baptist Church, Decatur, IL, last November and Designated Gifts from Churches and Individuals during the Winter and Spring. Thank you to all who gave and prayed for this project. It surely generated a lot of smiles, screams, and excitement among staff and campers this summer!
